This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My classroom is a warm inviting environment in which students are encouraged to reach their full potential. I am in the process of trying to flip my classroom which means I need to get more technologically savvy.
I have been teaching now for 16 years at a school near downtown LA.
The area is high poverty, and it is very challenging to get the kids to perform at grade level. I absolutely love my job, and the kids make me smile every day, but that doesn't change the fact that it is a very challenging job.
My Project
I am requesting an iPad air so I can go to iPad trainings being offered in my school district. The iPad trainings are 4 part. The first training session is called IOS basics. I will learn how to utilize an iPad in my classroom. The second training is called "Creativity." The third training is called "Google drive," and will teach me how to use google to run a paperless classroom. The last training is called productivity, and will teach me how to utilize technology to run a more effective classroom. I will also learn to flip my classroom which I believe will benefit the students' engagement levels. These four trainings will truly benefit my teaching techniques.
Getting this iPad Air will help me become more technologically savvy.
As a teacher you have to keep up with the modern trends, and you can't let yourself fall behind. I need this iPad to help to utilize more technology in my classroom.
