My Students

My students are amazingly special because they get to learn their curriculum through art integration every day. All the students at our school dance, sing, act, and create using the arts to express their learning. These students stand in front of other classmates, and often the whole school, and do things many adults would be embarrassed or scared to do! They do amazing things every day while learning! Being a magnet school, we have kids from all different towns, neighborhoods, and backgrounds, but they all come to school ready to work together cooperatively.

My Project

Having this added technology in the classroom will be a great opportunity for students to learn about coding! I will be working towards my goal of 1:1 technology in the classroom with iPads, as well as have some different types of coding "bots" that students can integrate into our learning. Having two different types of "bots" will allow those students who flourish with this type of learning to have a second level of difficulty to work with once they have mastered the first "bot". Students do not have ample opportunities to work with technology and coding all the time, so getting this experience will inspire them to be interested in technology and coding as they prepare for their futures!
