My students are the most wonderful, intelligent, kind, inquisitive, funny, and enthusiastic children in the world!
They work hard to grow and learn and live up to my every expectation.
Our small elementary school is located in rural Wisconsin, in an increasingly impoverished county. I am the librarian and serve all four K through 4th-grade students. I work to help them, as one of our school mottos states: "Grow their brains." As the school librarian, I co-teach with each teacher several times a year. Together, we believe that our children deserve rich, engaging, hands-on lessons, and we go the extra mile to make that happen.
Our 4K students love school! Through play they are learning skills that will help them become strong readers, writers, mathematicians, scientists, and historians. They are learning to live by the Golden Rule. Perhaps most importantly, they are setting the foundation for life-long learning.
My 4K students need ipads to use as literacy centers.
With the ipads students can listen to stories, use apps to help them learn math and literacy skills, and visit places near and far on the web. Our students love using technology as at this point they do not have ipads or computers to supplement their learning. The students would be thrilled with ipads!
