Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

This year, I am starting my first year in public school. I have been blessed with an amazing group of students this year. They come from a variety of different backgrounds.

I strive to help my students become productive citizens in the society we live in.

Seeing as these students, come from different backgrounds, they do not all have technology at their hands. I want to allow these students the opportunity to use technology on a regular basis.

I strive to make my classroom a 1:1 ratio of devices to students, if possible. I use technology daily and make sure that it is incorporated into every subject so that they can go out into the world and feel confident in their skills.

My Project

I incorporate technology into every lesson my students are immersed in. We will use apps like Nearpod, Seesaw, XtraMath, etc. daily. Students will also use this iPad to collaborate on digital literacy projects. This will help them grow stronger and more confident in their skills to become more productive citizens in our community.

This project will get me one step closer to achieving my ultimate goal of creating an engaged, digital classroom.

They will be able to read digital texts on Epic, and use iReady math and Reading courses, to aid in their knowledge of the concepts being taught in the classroom.

As a teacher in today's society, incorporating technology across all subject areas is a necessity. I only hope that my instruction will help them achieve their goals and feel as if they are learning in my classroom.
