Our classroom is bursting at the seams with inquisitive and eager to learn third graders. While our classroom is composed of individuals with a variety of learning styles, all of my students are actively engaged in their learning, and they thrive from higher level thinking and inquiry. On a daily basis, they challenge each other in their learning and collaborate to find answers to their wonderings. My students’ creativity, determination, and love for learning continuously challenges me to provide the very best educational experiences available to help grow these precious seeds of knowledge.
My Project
Our classroom would greatly benefit from five additional iPads and ten protective cases. At this time, our classroom has 14 iPads (5 without cases) for 30 students. My goal is to soon have one iPad for every student, because I believe that technology can positively transform my students' learning experiences. Integrating technology such as iPads into the classroom is an effective way to connect with students of all learning styles and enables students to learn according to their individual abilities and needs. When used correctly, technology can help prepare students for their future careers as they become the next inventors, teachers, doctors, entrepreneurs, activists, scientists, and leaders who are tasked to create positive change in our world.
Additional iPads and protective iPad cases will enhance my students' learning by providing a variety of technology-based educational experiences.
We will use the iPads for gathering research for inquiry projects and reading e-books, magazines, and news articles. We will read classmates' blog entries and grow our ideas together on class blogs and Wikis. We will strengthen our math skills with games and apps. We will utilize story-making apps to publish our writing, which we can then share with our classmates and families. We will FaceTime with inspiring authors, scientists, and even former classmates that have moved to new places. We will photograph memorable moments inside and outside our classroom. We will record our speeches, class discussions, and readers theater to help us learn and grow from as lifelong learners. These additional iPads will provide us with infinite possibilities!
