I am a first year teacher and I teach 2nd grade at a K-2 school in Alabama. 100% of the students at my school receive a free lunch. My class is a group of 23 students that are eager to learn, energetic, and love engaging activities! My students work hard to be great leaders in our school. They love doing hands-on activities and working in collaborative groups to solve problems and create projects. Everyday they come to school ready to learn, and learning truly excites them!
I strive to make school an enjoyable experience where all students feel safe and engaged!
My class consists of students that love working in collaborative groups to solve problems and support each other. They love movement and exploring new things. They are students with different backgrounds and various educational needs. They enjoy hands-on learning, exploring different learning tools, and taking in everything that second grade has to offer.
My Project
I plan to use this iPad as a teaching tool. Eager learners often need access to technology to investigate, gather information, read, and solve math problems. iPads will allow students to do all of these things.
It is important to me that my students have access to electronic academic content that will keep them excited about school and learning.My students are willing learners who need access to technology multiple times throughout the day.
I look forward to implementing iPads in the classroom because this technology is reliable and offers a medium that is relevant to students. I have software programs our school system provides, but do not have an iPad that will support the program. I will use the technology to enforce number sense, place value, making sense of problems, reading, phonics, and vocabulary development.
