This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I’m a Speech Pathologist in NYC public schools. My caseload involves children with special needs in a low income area. They do not have the ability to print sheets, so all therapy materials need to be interactive. I work with special needs children 3-11. Please help me support them the best I can, so that I can make all in-person sessions as productive as possible.
My Project
Due to COVID-19 this year I’ll be working remotely from home. In order to meet their needs, I can use many iPad apps and material during our Google meets. There are currently many iPad apps that I can purchase or use it which are not available for my desktop. Providing me this iPad will not only help me now while working remotely but also once I go back into the school building. With children 6 feet apart, it is very hard for them to see close up my face exactly what I’m doing for speech sound production or show me a response. This iPad will be used once we are back together in person also. Best of both worlds, since most devices were given to students in the spring. Thank you for your support!
