iPad to Help Struggling Phonic Students

My students need an iPad to offer greater success for independent work in narrowing their gap between their phonic deficit and reading comprehension skills.

My Students

Our class motto is "The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go." Dr. Seuss. I instill in my students mind to become a better reader you have to practice, practice, practice.

I teach in a Title I middle school in Virginia.

Within my seventh grade classroom I have a variety of disabilities from learning disabled to autistic and reading levels, from beginning readers to fourth grade. Our school offers free breakfast to every students and +80% free or reduced lunches. If you were to enter my self-contained classroom you would find eager, motivated students who want to learn and succeed.

My Project

As a modern day teenager almost everything my students do involve technology. I believe that students learn best when they are motivated. A motivation for my students is technology. Having an iPad would help my students be more successful independently through the different apps that are available to bridge the gap between their reading ability (phonics) and their reading comprehension skills.

All my students set a goal.

Please help my students reach their reading goals this year by funding this project. I believe the impact an iPad could make with my students reading skills is endless.
