My Students
I teach special education at a suburban middle school. I have very diverse learners in my classroom. My students come from varying backgrounds, home lives, and struggles.
My students have a range of disabilities including learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, behavior disorders, emotional disorders, and visual impairments.
My Project
Students in our district have had several different models of learning since the pandemic started a year and a half ago. They have been provided with emergency learning, distance education, hybrid classes, and in-person classes. Teachers have been developing lessons that provide opportunities to have as much success as they would learning pre-pandemic.
An iPad would allow me to enhance lessons for students attending class in person, as well as those joining us from home.
An iPad would allow me to annotate slides during presentations, record high-resolution videos of lessons to present to students, improve accessibility for all students, and collaborate study sessions with my students. The Nevada Content Standards and Carnegie Learning curriculum that we use provide the framework; the iPad would make them accessible for my struggling learners.
Help our classroom be more efficient and digitally connected.
