My Students

Many of my students have an energetic attitude towards school and are always willing to accept a challenge.

Many of my students in my classroom are hard-working and demonstrate a real desire to learn.

Unfortunately not all of my students get the support that they need with their education at home. Over half of my class receives the free/reduced lunch and over half of our school receives the free/reduced lunch. At my school, we have eight first grade classrooms and we are a Kindergarten through grade four building.

My Project

I would incorporate the iPad into my reading groups and center time. My students love center time as that is a time for them to work in small groups on math and reading skills. My students enjoy being on the computers during this time and would really love to be able to work on reading and math skills with an iPad. The use of the iPad would keep my students engaged. Raz-Kids is one app that my kids really love! The students talk frequently about getting on Raz-Kids on their parents phones and/or tablets at home.

Donations to this project will meet the needs of all my students.

It will help build reading fluency and math fluency amongst my students. Technology is a part of their lives everyday, so I need to continue incorporating technology into my classroom.
