My Project
A lot has happened and changed during the pandemic. Traditional learning became distance or online learning. More and more application software has been created to better teaching and learning. With all these changes and updates, our tools and systems should be updated, too.
Teaching STEM is a challenge without the necessary device and materials.
This is where the iPad Pro will be a huge help. There's a lot of technology software, like for 3D Printing and Robotics, that is easily navigated through an iPad. Some of them are even only compatible with Apple products. The easier for me to teach the steps to my students and the easier for them to understand and follow them, the more results we can have in less time. If the outcome of our activity and our experiment isn't what we want it to, it's easier to make adjustments on an iPad Pro. The district issued laptops are great for accessing the curriculum, but not for accessing softwares. There are a lot of restrictions. Each student or team of students needing a device can use the iPad every time they’re having an issue with their laptops’ accessibility and programs, or every time one of them forgets to bring his/her device.
All type of learners will be engaged and will benefit from this. Apple devices have a wide variety of accessibility settings like Hearing Devices. Subtitles and Captioning, Magnifier that students can use for their varied exceptionalities and needs to be accommodated. With the learning and productivity students lost during Covid, this will be a game-changer. I can already see my future scientist, engineers, and mathematicians getting ready and excited to create something to improve our way of living.
