My class is filled with Kindergarteners who are eager to learn. We have 10 boys and 14 girls, ages range from 4-5. We are a diverse group all residing in Tempe and Mesa Arizona. Some have what they need and some lack the necessities. We are part of a Title 1 school meaning most of our students qualify for free or reduced lunch. We enjoy dancing, singing and moving when we learn. We like to learn using hands on materials and the latest technology.
My Project
My iPads will allow me to differentiate for my students who need the extra support in reading and math. I hope to use applications like ABCMouse.com and Starfall to help strengthen their reading and math skills. These applications allow me to customize a learning platform on an individual level while keeping them engaged to the highest level.
I also plan to use our iPads for enrichment and extension activities for my students who rank higher than the average student.
iPads allow students to deepen their understanding of new concepts we've learned. My "higher" students thrive using technology because educational applications are designed to assess as they learn and push them as they perfect certain skill sets.
My classroom iPads will reach each and every student in my classroom, not just those students who need extra support. I plan to use our iPads for small group instruction for math and reading. During my small group time I get to work with each and every student every day on fine tuning their reading skills.
