I provide services for children of various grades with speech and language impairments in grades kindergarten through eighth grade in an inner city, public school in New York City. Each one of my students has individual goals ranging from improvements in vocabulary, writing, reading, cognition, stuttering and speech articulation. My students and their families lack resources required for academic, speech and language improvements. I try my best to provide these resources to help them succeed in school and to improve their self-esteem.
With an iPad, my students will learn about various subjects through the exposure of researching new information, viewing photos of the world beyond, looking up unknown words, utilizing educational apps to help them grow academically, to move beyond speech and language deficits.
My students have limited exposure to the world beyond their immediate community and an iPad will help them access knowledge that they need in order to succeed academically and grow individually.
Use of technology is motivating and since my students do not have individual access to iPads they miss out on new learning opportunities, please help my students learn with an iPad!
