My Students

I've always loved math. The way my math teachers explained new concepts and introduced new ideas made me realize that math is fun! Today, I try to get my students to come to that same realization. Math is great! And it's nothing to be afraid of.

I am constantly coming up with ways to make my kids see just how fun and easy math really is.

Every beginning of the school year, I get students who come in saying they hate math or that it's their least favorite subject. But just a couple weeks into the year, their perceptions change. Fun stations, engaging activities, and plenty of opportunities to work with their peers all contribute to their increased love of math.

Currently, my students are practicing distance learning and have been doing all their schoolwork at home. We are not sure how next year will look, but I’m looking for ways to record mini-lessons and get online materials for their use at home.

My hope is that I can continue to find new and exciting ways to make learning fun for my kids.

My Project

This iPad will help me create videos for my students in which I will be able to work out math problems as examples in a smooth and efficient manner. Sometimes my students just need me to work out a few problems while recording my thinking process for them to get going with their own learning. Many times, I'm working with a small group while other students work independently, and being able to link videos of some examples for students to view themselves would help them tremendously!

This iPad will make it easy for me AND my students to create their own videos!

When we are able to enjoy a regular school year again, my students will use this technology to create videos that will help their peers. They will also be able to use it when creating projects, both in math and science!
