My Students
I am a 3th-year ICT mathematics teacher at a school located in a low-income neighborhood in Staten Island, New York. We are a Title I junior high school for grades 6-8. Our staff prides ourselves on creating a love of learning in young children for them to carry with them throughout their lives. My students have diverse learning styles, and many of the students in my class have been diagnosed with disabilities such as autism, speech and language disorders, behavioral disorders, and learning disabilities.
My Project
We will be using Google Classroom, Google Meet, other GSuite Apps, Zoom, and apps such as Notability to model with mathematics for our students who are participating in blended learning- both in person and virtually at home. One project we will focus on this year is the choice of technology, manipulatives, or standard algorithms to complete our classwork. We plan to create interactive Google Slides for virtual projects.
This iPad will be used to collaborate with our students who are learning in the classroom and our students who are learning virtually from home.
In our building, we share iPad carts throughout the floor, and they are not usually available to use due to a long sign-up waiting list.
Our new iPad will help us to master blended learning in these new and challenging times.
