This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Sandwich wrappers, fruit peels, uneaten food: after every lunch period at our school, our campus is littered with refuse of every imaginable kind. Rather than continuing to live with this deplorable situation, I would like our students to inspire each other to keep our campus clean and learn to be green!
My lively 8th grade students live in a high poverty urban area of Northern California.
They are typical teenagers who often throw food and trash on the ground rather than composting it or recycling it. Some of them are so busy having fun they forget to clean up and recycle after lunch.
My Project
Using the iPad mini, my students will embark on a recycling campaign that uses photos and posters to create awareness of the trash problem on our campus. This campus beautification project will help our school environment, educate our students on green practices, and give my class the ability to become educators about important environmental issues. If the project is funded in time, we will organize our school's first Earth Day campus beautification project to occur on April 22nd.
Your donation to this project will help these students clean up our campus.
This iPad can inspire our amazing and creative 8th grade students to become advocates and create awareness of environmental issues that affect our campus and the world. And, with a half-off matching offer from Disney, we might be able to get this project funded in time for our first ever Earth Day event on our campus this April 22nd. Please help us!
