My students need an iPad Air and stylus pen for access to a medium for virtual math manipulatives.
FULLY FUNDED! Mr. Paul's classroom raised $702

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My classroom is filled with "oohs" and "ahhs" from natural mathematical discoveries.
My students live in a high poverty area and dedicate little to no resources on classroom resources such as pens or paper.
Their basic needs are barely met at home, so buying material for classwork isn't exactly what's on their minds. I'd like to remove this extra burden from them by supplying them with the proper equipment.
My Project
In my classroom, we have a projector (not a smartboard) that connects to a laptop. There is no intuitive way to interact with virtual manipulatives that are projected onto the wall. I plan on changing students direct usage of manipulatives by obtaining this iPad and downloading a special software that would mirror what's being projected. From there, students would be able to interact with what's on the board in an interactive way. A neat alternative to an expensive smartboard.
This project will make a huge difference in students' conceptual learning because, since mathematics is all about discovery, students will be able to use virtual tools and online pieces to help them discover mathematics in a more intuitive fashion.
