This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are in a second grade classroom. Majority of the students in my classroom come from disadvantage backgrounds and I want to give them all the opportunities they deserve to be successful in the world. My students come to school with varying abilities, and our goal is to foster lifelong learners in a positive learning environment. At the second grade level, students are becoming more independent and beginning to read for learning as opposed to learning how to read. I want my students to be happy to come to school each day and to be eager to learn new things.
My Project
An iPad will be essential in connecting with students! It could be used in various ways in the classroom. If we are working completely remote students will benefit from having a document camera to learn in real time, or it can be an extra screen for me to support students! I can also use the iPad to draw and annotate so students can fully visualize math strategies as well as reading strategies. If we are working in a hybrid model, on days that we are in school it would be great to have this is as a resource for students to use. An iPad is a great way to explore alongside them or be extra in case there is not enough devices in the classroom. In this day and age, students should feel comfortable with technology, and allowing students to use the iPad within the classroom whether it's keeping track of time, read ebooks, visit educational websites or even playing music from our class playlist will better develop their technological independence! Please help them incorporate this valuable technology this school year!
