Help me give my students an iPad to help make their learning more dynamic, engaging and provide them the skills to thrive in a technologically advancing world.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am an occupational therapist at a high need school where many students are bilingual or English language learners. Each student is unique and wonderful and learns differently.
No matter the learning style, we work collaboratively to meet each student at their current level so that together we can have fun and strive to meet their goals to access the best education possible.
I try and make my therapy sessions as fun and engaging as possible so that my students are learning and working towards their goals while enjoying themselves!
My Project
As an Occupational Therapist in a high need area, I know that our school community is a safe space for many of our students, which is why I try to make our therapy sessions as fun and engaging as possible.
Utilizing an iPad during OT sessions will help my students learn using a multi-sensory approach which is vital in allowing my students to meet their goals and access their education.
Utilizing the iPad will allow students to improve letter formation, emotional regulation skills, turn taking skills, as well as visual spatial skills. We will use specific apps and games to target these skills while enhancing the students ability to focus all while making the learning process more enjoyable.
The work we do in our therapy room helps our students build skills that will aid them in the classroom as well as far beyond the school setting. A new iPad will help target skills for students with all different learning styles so that they can achieve maximum success!
