My students need an iPad, cover, and dock for an easy way to track their behavior, download and listen to books, design projects, and play educational games for incentives.

Imagine a chart with colored sticks and 27 pockets. Picture yourself counting and documenting those sticks everyday, then transferring it to a spreadsheet. At the end of each month, all 27 children want to know how many sticks they have pulled for behavior...and you start pulling out your hair.
I have a group of 27 creative, intellectual, goofball 6th graders in my elementary classroom.
Over half of them have been with each other since kindergarten. On a daily basis, I hear them refer to each other as a "family", which makes me smile since they bicker like siblings too! They laugh with each other, create projects, dance, act out plays, pass gas, help with homework, and keep me on my toes. When we got a new student in April, my students embraced him. I knew he was put in the right homeroom when he did a little jig before sitting down one day, and my students didn't even bat an eye. They are used to each others creative theatrical antics! I have never had a group of students like I have right now, and they deserve the best education I can give them.
I imagine my day passing by with my new iPad 2 stuck to my hand or with a student. I plan on downloading a behavior system on to the iPad that will allow me to keep track of my students conduct (positive and negative) and be used for incentives at the end of each month. I also want my students to design projects on the iPad, download audio books, play educational Language Arts games, research, link to my class Smart Board, and work on their writing skills.
Please donors, support my project.
I know that one iPad doesn't seem like a lot, but I promise you, it will make a lasting impact on my 6th graders. Because this group is the most creative, imaginative class I have ever had, I'm sure they could come up with projects for the iPad that I never even knew existed! The iPad is a perfect combination with our Smart Board that was installed this year, because I can hook the iPad directly to it to display projects. Thank you for your support.
