My Students

My class is extremely resilient. Our school is a true melting pot of cultures, economic statuses, homes, and families. This school is considered high poverty, over 60% of our students are economically disadvantaged, and our entire school now qualifies for free lunch and breakfast. We have over 10 different cultural backgrounds in our classroom with such diversity as Alaska Native, Pacific Islander, Asian, Gambian, and American Indian. Recently while studying Dr. M.L. King Jr., my students answered the question, "What do you think Dr. King would say about our classroom?"

One answered, "He would say that our class is his dream come true.

Which is exactly right. We are such a wonderful mix of persons."

My Project

After many years of classroom teaching, I decided to go back for my Master of Education in Learning and Technology degree. An online master's degree program in technology requires access to current technology. An iPad Pro would allow me to access all my classwork while on the go, which is important as I am going to school full time while I am teaching full time as well. The keyboard folio allows me to continue to write my papers and project even while I am out of the classroom and out of the house following my kids' extracurricular activities.

Students deserve a teacher who understands more than just teaching the materials provided by a school district.

They deserve a master teacher who can understand the designs and theory that makes learning the best for the students.

This combines the theory behind learning and also technology.
