My Students
My students are energetic and curious learners. They are a group of students who come to me at all levels of reading and math. Nonetheless, they all want to learn and improve their academic performance.
Each day, they come to school with a willingness to take risks and learn from their mistakes.
My job is to guide them in the proper direction, but I make sure to let them do the heavy lifting so to speak. Every day is a new experience, and they treat it as such.
My Project
In my classroom, the students use technology on a daily basis. The first hour of class is dedicated to math interventions. This is the time the students are grouped based on what concepts they are struggling with in math.
For example, during my intervention block I will take a group of students to work on a specific strategy such as solving two step word problems.
During this time, I will have other students working independently on other tasks. One of the ways I do this is to have students using math programs online. I would like to have an additional Ipad so that I could have specific students using the IXL math program on the iPad. iPads are a great tool to have in the classroom during this block of time.
