This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are very diverse, representing many cultures. We have strong community support, and the staff treats each other like an extended family. Our families are considered high-poverty so it's difficult to ask for extra materials needed for our students in our classrooms. Our school supplies are lacking so I often spend a lot of my own personal money on classroom materials because I don't want my students to be without the necessary materials to keep them organized and prepared for school.
My Project
Technology in the classroom is advancing without us in our classroom! We need an Ipad to keep up with the ever-lasting demand for weekly progress monitoring of our students.
An iPad would be a more efficient tool to progress-monitor my students' weekly progress throughout the year.
Furthermore, I can share each child's progress with the parents quicker through email. An iPad would also be helpful for my academically challenged students who need more support with developing reading and math skills. Students would be able to access science lessons, math drills, and reading books daily at the touch of their fingertips.
