Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Being able to have an iPad in a math classroom is essential for fostering a dynamic learning environment where students, especially those from underrepresented communities, can express their mathematical reasoning and problem-solving skills from any location within the room. With the versatility of iPads, students can seamlessly capture and showcase their thought processes, enabling teachers to observe, assess, and provide timely feedback on their work, which is particularly crucial in alleviating math anxiety.
This mobility encourages collaborative learning as students can easily share their strategies and engage in peer-to-peer discussions, contributing to a more inclusive classroom atmosphere.
Additionally, the interactive nature of iPads opens up avenues for exploring mathematical concepts through various multimedia resources, enhancing comprehension and retention, thus addressing disparities in math achievement.
