My hard working, eager 4th graders are filled with a diverse group of students. My school is a Title 1 school that is located in Jeannette, PA. Many of my students are visual learners who enjoy positive feedback from teachers and are highly motivated by rewards.
The students will use the Dojo App as a reward system.
I currently have it set up where individual students can earn points. Once they have earned a specific goal, they are able to choose from several different rewards. Some of the rewards are chosen by students themselves. Parents will also use the materials by logging into class Dojo to monitor their child’s day as well as send me an instant message if they have any questions, comments or concerns. The App also has a section called “Our Story” where I can post pictures of students and show parents what we are learning. I am at a school which has a projector so I am able to display the App and use it during instruction or independent practice.
My Project
Donations to my project will improve my classroom by keeping students on track by rewarding positive behavior. This will create an atmosphere where students feel their hard work pays off.
I feel communication is the key to a successful school year!
Parents and teachers will stay connected with the click of button. The little things will not go unnoticed and the parents will be able to encourage the students to continue their hard work at home.
This will create a system where students will be able to stay on track and self monitor to encourage responsibility at a young age.
