it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
If you're not moving forward, you are moving backwards. I believe that the only way to grow as a professional is to consistently move toward improving yourself.
I have been a special education teacher at a low income middle school for over eleven years.
Throughout the years, many things have changed in education. One of the biggest changes has been in the use of technology. Everything is moving toward educating students with the help of technology. In addition, all professional development trainings now require use of technology to use during the trainings.
My Project
I am requesting an iPad to use during common core and other professional development trainings. The use of technology is essential in the success of implementing our new common core standards. As teachers, we are asked to bring iPads or laptops to these trainings. During the professional development, I will be able to use the iPad to assist me in accessing different websites the instructors wish us to view. I will learn how to access key components of the websites to better understand the common core standards. Specifically, I would be able to attend the Math Common Core trainings my district is offering, and be able to use the iPad to take specific notes at the training and access the links and websites from the Common Core professional development training. This will help me attain greater knowledge of the new standards and, in turn, I will bring back these notes and strategies I learn to better implement the new Common Core standards my district/state has implemented.
The iPad will help me access various websites during the professional development trainings and take notes to help me better understand the new standards the state has adopted.
This, in turn, will allow me to take these learnings back to my school and better educate my students. Your donations will help me in ensuring my students move forward in this ever changing world.
