My Students

I have the amazing opportunity to teach 4th - 6th grade children with mild to moderate disabilities. My students are dedicated to working through their disabilities in areas like math, reading, writing, and engaging in appropriate behaviors. They amaze me at their ability to keep a positive attitude and to work hard every day.

I live for the moments when they walk into my classroom excited to tell me all about the successes they are having in their life.

They can bring smiles to anyone's face. They have taught me how to smile and laugh through the hard moments. They are great examples of what it means to be a dedicated learner.

My Project

I would like to add an iPad and Apple Pencil to my classroom. These items would be used to support student academic growth and simplify data collection and paperwork for me as a teacher.

Special Education is known for having a lot of paperwork.

Our district has recently gone to an online Individual Education Plan program. This iPad will help me in presenting data and paperwork to parents while still keeping it personable. It also will allow me to make changes as we meet to ensure that students are getting the best plan in place to help them be successful.

This iPad will help me, and it will be another tool to help my students. There are so many educational apps that my students can utilize to help bridge the gap and progress in the skills they are behind in. The Apple Pencil will help improve their handwriting skills. My students also often struggle with motivation, and giving them the opportunity to work for using the iPad will increase their participation and willingness to work and complete tasks that are often hard for them.
