My Students

We are located in an extremely overcrowded elementary school in New York. We work very hard and appreciate learning through laughter, fun, and play. It is a long school day when all we do is sit in our seats and work.

You often hear an explosion of laughter coming from my classroom.

First grade is an awesome place for any child to be. I am a first grade teacher for a very eager and excitable group of children. I am truly a lucky teacher.

My Project

My students are very eager to learn, but especially through play. Make any subject sound like it is going to be fun, then I have everyone's attention. They especially love to use an iPad.

Imagine an eight year old whose sole attention is on a math game.

They are so focused and engaged it is almost frightening, yet as a teacher that is exactly the reaction I am looking for from my children. We do have a couple of iPads in our classroom and they are constantly being used. Our math program can be used through the iPad, plus we have some really great educational games. I would love to be able to add two more iPads to our very meager collection.
