Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
All of the items chosen for this project have my future students in mind. The larget items that I am asking for are to help me be a better teacher for my students next year. The A-frame sign is to help promote new books in the classroom as well as a space to give students shout-outs or for reminders. The storage bins, classroom supplies and chart paper I am asking for is so I can make sure that I have enough supplies for my students as well as for myself when I am teaching. While we are given supplies in the beginning of the year they never seem to last long.
In order for my students to be successful in their learning, the environment must have what they need.
Being a teacher, we provide more than academics to our students. Most of our students come from lower-income households and school is the only place where they can get breakfast and lunch. Being able to provide snacks for them during the day helps with their stamina as well as keeps them happy. Sanitary pads are also a big prioirty in our grade. Some families cannot afford sanitary items their girls need when their period comes, while the school nurse has these in her office, she may not be available or it may be too late.Bbeing able to provide them when they get their period has been a big help this year, and we would like to continue to provide these for our students.
