My Project

Loose parts are materials that can be moved, carried, combined, redesigned, lined up, and taken apart and put back together in multiple ways. Loose parts can be used alone or combined with other materials. There is no set of specific directions for materials that are considered loose parts. The child is the creator.

Loose parts are open-ended and encourage problem solving skills.

Children can engage themselves in concrete experiences using loose parts. These explorations occur naturally, opposed to those that are adult directed. The children practice their fine motor skills by engaging in hands on manipulation of loose parts and they encourage the use of math, science, and language skills.

By purchasing these materials, it will help me create an area of play for the children to explore their creativity while developing a sense of independence as children have the freedom to explore different materials autonomously.
