This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
There are many reasons why I believe that an interactive tablet is desperately needed in my classroom. Students crave technology; they use it every day, and are more tech-savvy than most adults. Another is my students learn best when they have the chance to visualize what they are learning.
There is a place for a tablet in every child's learning experience and ability.
We are a Title I School and 80% of our students receive free or reduced lunch. My aim is to teach through the use of differentiation, inquiry, and technology. My students are highly motivated and love learning. Unfortunately, many students do not have access to technology or it doesn't quite fit into their families' budget.
My Project
The students will also be able to use the interactive tablet I am requesting in every subject (reading, writing, math, science, and social studies) throughout the day. We will utilize them when teaching small group lessons, where every student will have the opportunity to "get their hands on" this technology and utilize it. This versatile tool will help many students review basic skills and challenging others with new grade level standards. Researching important events and current topics of study will empower my students to be competitive in this technological driven world.
