Investing in Financial Literacy (Part 2)

Help me give my students a fully stocked student store with fun stickers, bookmarks, stress balls, and other fidgets where they can spend their hard earned class economy dollars!

My Project

Cha Ching! On top of their academics, my 5th graders are learning the value of hard work, and saving and spending money through our Classroom Economy. They earn "dollars" for doing their class jobs and behaving responsibly, are "taxed" when necessary, and can "spend" their money in our Student Store. Here, they can buy privileges such as being able to write in pen for the day, sitting beside a friend, choosing a flexible seating option, and buying homework passes. Stickers, pencils, glue sticks, and erasers are also available to be purchased.

Our Student Store would greatly benefit from being stocked with exciting new stickers, magnetic bookmarks, squishy balls, animal erasers, and other fun fidgets to help with anxiety and stress management.

My students feel empowered when they earn, save, and spend their classroom money. They learn very quickly about the importance of financial literacy and spending their money wisely. Having a Student Store full of 5th grader-approved goodies motivates my students to earn and save their money, so that they can make special purchases.
