This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach at a low-income school in Homestead, Florida. My classroom is multicultural. Many of my students face many challenges on a daily basis. Most of my students come from homes where English is not their primary language. Others lack the basic needs that children need in order to succeed in school.
My third graders are invincible!
Even though there are many factors that can keep them from being successful, they come to school ready to fight the everyday struggles of life. They are brave and strong!
My Project
The iPads will give my students access to technology and will put learning at their fingertips. The iPad will help my students read and research Reading, Science, and Social Studies topics. My ELL students will also use the iPad as a tool for finding images and the pronunciation of words to help them make connections. My low performing students will get an opportunity to engage in learning in a fun way.
The iPads will also foster critical thinking through inquiry based learning.
My students will be able to use the iPads to access a variety of multimedia such as applications, digital books, and videos. The iPads will enhance student learning and encourage collaborative work while my students use their reading skills to learn Reading, Science, and Social Studies content.
