Help me give my students a compound microscope to use for looking at microbes in water and plant cells. Students will use this in grades k-5 in both the regular school day and after school programs.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. FRISONE's classroom raised $287

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are eager scientists and engineers! They come from diverse backgrounds and bring unique experiences to their learning. They are leaders who believe they can accomplish anything they put their minds to.
We are a Title I school with very little money to buy the materials we need to help students be successful in their learning.
The scientists, engineers, and environmentalists love investigating and creating new ideas to help the world. They believe that science, engineering, and the environment are the future and believe if we take care of our Earth it will continue to take care of us.
My Project
By donating to this project you will be helping students make concrete connections. It is very hard for young students to understand things they cannot see. By allowing them to see Mirco-organisms that live within our environments, they will be able to internalize their learning. Creating new knowledge and sparking new ideas that otherwise might not be made at this age group. Scientists will use this tool during the school day to look at plant cells, and organisms that can't be seen by the naked eye. We have a Wave of Action club that investigates water crisis' in NYC and we will use this microscope to look at the small organisms that live in our bays as well as our drinking water. The students will use the data they collect to create Public service announcements for their community.
