Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am committed to advancing the scientific literacy and practical skills of our students through hands-on learning experiences. To enhance the science curriculum, I am seeking funding to acquire high-precision electronic scales and density cubes, which will facilitate accurate and engaging investigations into the concept of density as well as other topics. By incorporating these advanced tools into our classroom experiments, I aim to provide students with a deeper understanding of material properties and improve their ability to perform precise scientific measurements.
I work mainly with English Learners who need practical, hands-on experiences.
The funds will be used to purchase these essential materials, ensuring that over 70% of our student population, which consists predominantly of minority students, and over 65% who benefit from free and reduced lunch programs, have access to high-quality educational resources.
This project will equip my students to master scientific investigation—a critical component of their required coursework—by allowing them to engage in real-world applications of scientific principles and develop essential analytical skills.
