Introduction to 3D Printing

Help me give my students 3D printing pens as an introduction to 3D printing.

My Students

My students are 9th-grade computer science scholars in Oakland. They are surrounded by so much technology and innovation, and although it is starting to trickle down to the public schools, the curriculum is still not reaching their needs so they can participate in the changing culture. I want to provide them with lessons and a toolbox so they can amplify their voices and contribute positive change to the community and world they live in.

They are curious and continuing to take their work to the next level, and I want to provide them with tools to get them to think creatively and how to use technology to get them there.

My Project

I have a lot of students who are interested in 3D Printing, however I only have one 3D printer. Since 3D printers take a lot of time, I want to offer students 3D printing pens. I believe having 3D printing pens in my classroom will help students plan out what they can 3D print, as well as get students who are overwhelmed by 3D printing a way to ease into these skills.

3D printing pens will allow my students to see an instant result, and get their ideas off the paper in a fun and engaging way.

I also requested filament and guides so that students can get ideas of what they want to create.
