This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Once there was a girl named Dorothy who lived in Kansas. Now, Dorothy wasn't too keen on watching weather reports, nor did she rightfully understand the nature of the storm called a tornado. Let's educate this generation a bit better than that!

Most of the children in my school are low income students.

Since these children are also from an urban environment, most of these kids would also be classified as "high-risk" children. The majority of my students require free or reduced lunches. We are a public school and we are proud of it.

My Project

This project is going to give students something extremely rare, an opportunity to have a hands-on interaction with a tornado. My students need a tornado demonstration kit and activity books to learn about wind and weather patterns on the Earth's surface. The material requested can help students understand the nature of large storms, including the nature of their behavior and their creation.
