Intervention Materials

My Students

I am a special education teacher that just moved from fifth grade to kindergarten/1st grade. I do not have many resources for young children. I would love to get some fiction and nonfiction leveled books to help with reading groups. The students would be able to read these during centers, during guided reading, and while I am working with other students for progress monitoring. I intend to modify my books to include sensory aspects. I have looked for sensory books online, but nothing fits the needs of my students. I am so excited to use these books to help my students to love reading!

My Project

I am hoping to get these awesome reading resources for my special needs class. These games and reading resources will engage my students while solidifying their foundation in reading and phonics. I cannot wait to use the SPLASH games for centers, tutoring, as well as indoor recess. The reading resources are great for my special education students who need the tactile, multi sensory approach. They can easily see how to touch each letter to decode the words. I will use this resource to create a habit of tracking print and sounding out unfamiliar words as I introduce new phonics skills.
