My students need flexible seating options like yoga balls, stools, and cushions to help them while working in the classroom. These items help empower students to learn and to easily collaborate with their peers.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I'm an Elementary Intervention Specialist and work with students K-5th grade. We are a Title I school and my students face many challenges such as poverty, homelessness, and lack of supplies.
Even though, at times, my students struggle academically and behaviorally, they come to school with a positive attitude and are ready to learn. My students are inquisitive and love to ask questions.
They are creative and many of them use multiple intelligences to learn. To meet the needs of my students, I incorporate many different learning strategies and have flexible seating options. My students also love to use technology to learn and complete assignments.
They persevere and try their best even when facing a challenge. My students show up daily and are eager to improve and learn new skills.
My Project
The products that I have selected will help make my classroom more of an effective learning environment. The flexible seating options allow students to take charge of their learning. They are able to make choices that work best for them. During group and independent work times they can choose a location in the classroom that works for them. This will also help during collaboration time. When students are comfortable, they are more motivated to learn.
Students will be able to use fidget sensory toys to focus more in class.
Students will be able to use items like kinetic sand and bands to block out distractions and increase productivity. These products will help keep students engaged in class and will help to prevent behavior challenges.
