Help me give my students Homegoing, an opportunity to explore intertextuality with The Bluest Eye.

My Project
Last year, I read The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison with my students. It is a masterful work of literature, and now I want to combine this book with Homegoing to explore intertextuality. These books were published 50 years apart, but they will work together because their overarching themes of oppression, racism, self-loathing, and violence can be analyzed in a Socratic Seminar together. Ideally, half of each class will read The Bluest Eye and half will read Homegoing.
They are both excellent books, which explore the perseverance of the human spirit and the drive for connection and meaning.
