Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

My Students

My school is a Title I school, 90% of the student population receive free lunch. The majority of my students come from low-income families and overcome many obstacles just to be successful. They are already at a disadvantage, and attend schools with little to no resources to enhance their learning experience. We do not have supplies and resources, but that does not discourage the students from learning. In fact these students are determined to succeed despite the challenges the face on a daily basis.

For anyone who has attended or taught school through public education, we know the challenges that students and educators face.

Last school year, our students went through a challenge none of us have seen before with the corona-virus and the switch to virtual learning.

I believe that every child can and will learn. As a part of my job, it is my responsibility to keep my students motivated and curious about the lessons being taught. My students are very sociable and loving, so it makes part of the learning process much easier and enjoyable. They come daily elated to learn more than the previous day.

My Project

One of the main benefits of public education is that every student have the same opportunities for success in learning. However, with so many schools having to offer distance learning or virtual learning during this pandemic, not all of my students have the same opportunities because of internet issues at home.

With these devices, those students will have the same opportunities to learn and achieve success to the fullest.

Each student will be given the opportunity to access to the internet at their house. School and life are difficult enough for some of our students and by receiving these devices it will allow those less fortunate students the chance to receive the best education possible at home during these times of virtual learning!
