My Students
My class is full of students who are eager, excited, and motivated to learn. I teach a first-grade gifted and talented class at a large public school in New York City. Right now there are twenty students due to COVID restrictions, but I expect thirty-two students in the coming year. They are all amazing thinkers with diverse needs and a wide range of abilities. They have a variety of interests and a love for learning. Their interests spread throughout all areas of literacy, math, science, social studies, and technology. They love learning through hands-on and interactive activities.
My Project
My students love to read but our classroom library could use some refreshing with brand new books!
I would like to bring a variety of books on interesting topics, and with diverse characters for my students to choose from.
I am asking for an assortment of nonfiction and fiction books. The nonfiction books are on topics that I know my students will be interested in. The fiction books are written with culturally diverse characters that my students will be able to relate to and see themselves in. I know my students will be so excited to dive in and explore these new books!
