My Students

Working with students in a small town opens learning up in a whole new way. I work with various students ranging from 6th grade to 8th grade. I have students who are at a before reading level all the way to grade level. I teach 4 different classes each day; two are pull out resource language arts classes and two are co-taught language arts classes.

Students come from a multitude of socio-economic backgrounds.

I love working with these students and feel I can make the greatest difference as I help them grow. Each student has a unique need that qualifies them to require my services.

My Project

My hope is by bringing in literature that is accessible to my struggling readers that I will be able to help inspire interest in reading. Inspire them to think beyond just words and text to discover stories.

Students need opportunity to read where they are to grow farther.

For many they never found a love for stories in elementary school and now is their opportunity to discover a world of books. Having access to books that are readable to them and stories that are applicable to their age will open this world.

Reading is a joy and I want students to have that opportunity.
