It’s the start of a brand new school year, and that means another group of second graders will be walking into my classroom this August! We are a small town school with a majority of our students qualifying for free/reduced lunch.
Community and family are HUGE in my district and classroom, each one of my kiddos bring something special to our classroom family.
Each year my kids come in with varying academic skills. However, I strive to help build their confidence and leadership skills to then grow their academics. I incorporate multiple learning strategies, group work, and social/emotional lessons to help cultivate our community culture.
This single tool with help ENHANCE my classroom by a landslide. One way I plan to incorporate the use of an interactive whiteboard is through community behavior management. Using the Class DoJo system I can allow students to build leadership by awarding points for positive choices. Putting the iPEVO pen in students hands will allow them the ability to affirm their classmates with points and praise.
Math, science, and reading lessons will become even more interactive, allowing students to manipulate anything that's projected.
I'm excited to give my students a technology tool to further their HANDS-ON LEARNING in the classroom.
