What makes my students so special is they come to school daily; excited and eager to learn with an average of 97% attendance rate. They pose questions, they collaborate together, and most of all they like to have fun while they learn! At BES we are Title I school with a high ELL and migrant population because we are surrounded by a large, hardworking farming community. Many of these families must travel based on farming seasons. However, just like the parents these kids never give up. In addition, they strive for excellence and request challenges in many subject areas!
My Project
By the students receiving more laptops within our classroom. Our class will receive more frequent computer time with differentiated lessons based on the students' needs. Furthermore, our computers will bring support in unlimited access to Chromebooks that will provide individual reading games and activities on Iready, Myon and more based on THEIR needs. In addition, the computers will also provide support in our math centers as they will also have access to individualized math games and lessons. Lastly, having these Chromebooks in the classroom, students will be working on typing and researching their writing pieces; which will promote the success of a large life skill in middle school, high school, college, and the business world.
