My Students

Our Mighty Mustangs are a diverse group of 125 students coming from all different social and economical backgrounds. With such diversity, technology has provided academic support to serve each student according to their intellectual needs. However access to technology has been limited.

We teach kindergarten at a year-round school in North Carolina.

We have students who come from all different walks of life but one thing they all have in common is their love of learning. Our school has great family and community involvement and the students are eager to learn and discover the world around them! Kindergartners need less time sitting at their tables and at the carpet and more time playing and learning with interactive games. Having Osmos in every classroom will help us differentiate instruction as well as challenge students in our attempt to have all students meeting academic goals.

My Project

Osmo’s groundbreaking system fosters social intelligence and creative thinking by opening up the iPad to the endless possibilities of physical play. This system will allow our students to work on phonics, STEM challenges, art, handwriting, and spatial visualization. These are crucial skills that 4-6 year old students need during their early developmental years. These skills will be the building block for following grades up to College.

This project will give our students the opportunity to develop 21st century technology skills as well as getting individualized and small group support during literacy, science, and math instruction.
