Interactive Sketchbooks for All Students

My students need copy paper, a binding machine, a laminator, highlighters, ink, and other binding items to create sketchbooks for students.

Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are excited about creating. Our school is located in the rural Mississippi Delta. We are a Title I school where 100% of our students receive free lunches. My students don't have many opportunities outside of school to explore the arts. We are a very small community.

My students are so excited to learn about artists and mediums.

I enjoy seeing the excitement in their eyes. When students create an artwork, they are filled with pride and love to show it to their other teachers.

My Project

This project is for tools to create sketchbooks for students. The binding machine is to punch holes into paper for printed prompts and elements of art workbook pages to put into student sketchbooks. The laminator is to laminate the back cover of the sketchbook so it will not tear and rip while students use their sketchbook. The cover pages are to protect the front of the sketchbook. There will also be maps of the world for students to locate where an artist is from or the region of art we are studying.

There will be also pages for students to create interactive art as they learn about the elements of art and the principles of art.

Another area of their sketchbooks will be for working out problems at the beginning of an art making lesson.
