Interactive Science Notebooks for Low-Income Students
My students need basic classroom supplies, like 90 composition books, glue, markers, and pencils, to create interactive notebooks. These notebooks enhance learning by organizing notes, foldables and other learning aides.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Have you ever not been able to afford simple classroom supplies like a notebook?
Please help my students have one less financial burden to worry about!
I work in a Title 1 high school where over 70% of the students are on free and reduced lunch.
My students come from broken homes – they go home each day to an unstable environment where they may not have electricity, they did not eat dinner, they have to watch their siblings every night or they may have children of their own, they are being raised by single-parents, aunts, uncles, or guardians, they have two jobs, etc…
Through all this, my students work hard. But, they do not have the luxury of being able to afford all their basic classroom materials. I lend out countless pens, pencils, and paper every day! School should be a safe, inclusive and stable environment! I want my students to have one less thing to worry about.
My Project
Interactive notebooks enable students to be creative, independent thinkers and writers. They enhance learning by guiding students to organize their notes while expressing their own ideas and process the information presented throughout the lesson. Students are encouraged to create foldables and other learning aides that help stimulate a deeper understand and retention.
Interactive notebooks help improve students' creative and organizational skills. Each student is responsible for the upkeep of his/her own notebook.
In order to create these interactive notebooks, I am asking for composition notebooks, glue, markers, pens, pencils, erasers, scissors,etc...
This interactive way of learning inspires a sense of ownership of their education.
I teach in a high poverty school where every cent is meaningful.
Every investment truly carries seismic impact. Each notebook can open a world of creative exploration into the world of science!
