My Students

I teach in a low socioeconomic area but my kids are full of energy, creativity, intelligence, love, and curiosity.

The students that I teach are our future, and it's my job to make sure that their future is nothing but bright.

I teach math and science to fifty 5th graders. I'm trying to make sure that each and every child understands that the sky is the limit and that with an education, the possibilities of what they can do are endless.

My Project

My elementary students can gain a deeper insight into science by using interactive models in my classroom. I can use the materials to create engaging, high-impact lessons. My students will benefit by having hands-on interactive models and activities that will encourage problem solving and creativity.

Hands-on manipulatives encourage students to get involved in science exploration by asking questions, creating argumentation, analyzing data, and communicating their findings.

These add-ons to our current science curriculum will engage students in real science practices including gathering evidence, planning and carrying out investigations, and designing prototypes to solve real-world problems. Students will be able to work independently and collaboratively to build and explore science models.

Students will explore models of our earth, the solar system, force and motion, gravity, weather, matter, and engineering. They will also need sharp pencils to document their findings and explain what they have learned.
