Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This year I will be teaching a group of 33 fifth graders in Richmond, California.

My students are brilliant, funny, loving, and creative.

However, because they attend a Title I school with 100% free lunch in a low-income area, they do not have all of the tools that they need to be successful in the classroom.

By donating to my classroom, you will ensure that my students are able to learn and flourish both inside of the classroom and out. Thank you!

My Project

In my class, we try to do a science experiment every week using Mystery Science, a rich, standards-aligned curriculum. While most of these activities only require basic materials like plastic bags, laundry detergent, or binder clips, it is often my responsibility to purchase these items with my own money.

By donating to this project, you will ensure that all students have the ability to participate in engaging science experiments.

We will be learning about the solar system, ecosystems, and even chemistry!

Your donation will also go toward purchasing new books for our classroom library, particularly nonfiction texts and high-interest books in Spanish so that all students are able to grow their reading abilities.
